Eyecatcher Events have a range of experience producing props and decorations for all styles of events.

Karen’s Profile

Born in the UK Karen holds a BTEC Diploma in Display design from Medway College of Design Chatham, Kent. After qualifying she worked for Sculptors Everad Meynell & Guy Portelli (of BBC Dragons' Den fame) making moulds & casting in Resin. She then worked for ‘Props’ a business producing props for the retail windows of British stores such as Fortnum & Masons and Top Shop.

Emigrating to Australia in 1992 she freelanced for Sony Music Entertainment NSW for a good 10 years dressing windows & many launch parties for stars such as Harry Conick Jr, Maria Carey, Ozzy Osbourne to name but a few. During this time she established her business Eyecatcher Arts & her client list grew. Upon meeting her husband Simon Hardiman it was decided to join forces with their talents & so Eyecatcher Events was born.

Karen describes herself as a sculptor using any number of materials to create the right effect but is also happy at the sewing machine or up a ladder installing decorations to produce a fantasy land to entertain the guests at that next event. If she can’t do it she’ll find someone who can! Karen loves to work with the fabulous team of designers and artists she has found and continues to collect.
